Fruit

This month we have focused on the FRUIT of the SPIRIT.
We learned that the bible shows us how to live.
We have memorized Galatians 5:22-23.
"The fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
gentleness and self control."
We talk about them throughout our day.

So all month we've done things with fruit.
Our first letter to focus on was letter F so this theme fit nicely!

We've had fresh fruit for most of our snack times.

Our Fruit Stand opened up.

Our fruit stand needed some more fruit so we used duct tape to create apples and oranges.
What a great fine motor skill.
Crunch the bag and then wrap it with stripes of tape.
I loved watching those little fingers manipulate the bag and tape to get it all covered.
This was offered several days because everyone enjoyed the process so much.

A sticky table was made where friends could build an apple.
(A sticky table is a table with contact paper taped with the sticky side up. The sticky table idea came from the site Teach Preschool.)
This has been a great new addition for our class.
It's been visited often enough that the table will stick around for next month with a new item to build.

I love that we learn these words at the beginning of the year because we refer to the fruits of the spirit all year long.
(A great book to use to teach the fruits of the spirit is  "Nine Fruits Alive" by Mindy MacDonald.)
